Project Background
Devsuits completed a sub-sector analysis of construction, agriculture, and tourism for the Employer-led Labour Market Secretariat (ELMS) project. Implemented by FNCCI, CNI, FNCSI, FCAN, and HAN, and supported by Dakchyata, the project is managed by the British Council and funded by the EU Delegation in Nepal. The analysis, involving over 80 employer representatives, identified 30 potential occupations in these sectors.
Objectives
Devsuits recently completed a sub-sector analysis of the construction, agriculture, and tourism sectors for the Employer-led Labour Market Secretariat (ELMS) project. Through a consultative process involving over 80 representatives from employers and associations, the analysis identified 30 vibrant and potential occupations within these key sectors.
Identify Key Occupations
To determine 30 vibrant and potential occupations within the construction, agriculture, and tourism sectors through a detailed consultative process with industry representatives.
Enhance Sectoral Employment
To support the development of a skilled workforce in the construction, agriculture, and tourism sectors by providing insights into potential job opportunities.
Inform Policy and Training Programs
To provide data-driven recommendations to inform policy-making and the design of training programs that align with the needs of employers in these sectors.
Activities
Stakeholder Workshops
Conduct a series of workshops with representatives from employers, industry associations, and training providers to discuss and validate the findings of the sub-sector analysis. These workshops will ensure the alignment of identified occupations with industry needs and expectations.
Development of Training Programs
Collaborate with vocational training institutions and industry experts to develop targeted training programs for the identified occupations. These programs will be designed to equip the workforce with the necessary skills and competencies required by employers in the construction, agriculture, and tourism sectors.
Policy Recommendation Reports
Prepare comprehensive reports outlining policy recommendations based on the sub-sector analysis findings. These reports will be shared with government agencies and relevant stakeholders to inform the development of supportive policies and initiatives aimed at fostering employment growth in the identified sectors.
